Delivery Information

At The Furniture Bureau, every order is carefully prepared and packaged to ensure it arrives safely. Whether you've commissioned a bespoke piece of furniture, ordered handcrafted homewares or purchased creative supplies, I take great care to make sure your order reaches you in beautiful condition.

As a small independent business, every piece is individually handled with care, and I'll keep you informed throughout the process.

Local Collection

You're very welcome to collect your order from my studio in Stotfold SG5 on the Herts/Beds border by prior appointment.

Whether you're collecting a piece of furniture or handmade homewares, I'll ensure everything is carefully prepared and ready for you.

Please get in touch to arrange a convenient collection time.

Processing Times

Most in-stock handmade homewares and creative supplies are dispatched within 2–3 working days.

As every order is carefully prepared and packaged by hand, processing times may occasionally vary during particularly busy periods.

If you require an item urgently, please contact me before placing your order and I'll always do my best to help.

Please note that bespoke furniture commissions and made-to-order items have individual lead times, which will be discussed and agreed with you before work begins.

Handmade Homewares & Creative Supplies

Handmade homewares, gifts and creative supplies are securely packaged and sent using a reliable postal or courier service, depending on the size, weight and value of your order.

Where appropriate, tracked and insured delivery services will be used to ensure your order arrives safely.

Delivery charges are calculated according to the size, weight and destination of your order and will be confirmed during checkout or at the time of ordering.

Furniture Delivery

Every piece of furniture is unique, so delivery is arranged individually to ensure it arrives safely.

For customers within my local area, I personally deliver furniture wherever possible with the help of my husband. This allows us to ensure each piece is transported with the care and attention it deserves.

For customers further afield, I use trusted specialist furniture couriers who regularly transport antique and vintage furniture throughout Great Britain.

Standard furniture deliveries are made using a one-person, ground-floor delivery service, so you may be asked to assist the driver when your furniture arrives. If you require a two-person delivery service, this can usually be arranged for an additional charge. Please let me know before placing your order so I can obtain an accurate quotation.

Delivery charges vary depending on the size of the furniture, your location and any access requirements, and will always be discussed and agreed before your commission is completed.

Your courier will contact you directly to arrange a convenient delivery date and keep you updated throughout the delivery process.

Receiving Your Order

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives.

If your item has been delivered by courier and you notice any damage to the packaging or contents, please:

  • Photograph the packaging and the item immediately.
  • Notify the courier immediately if damage is apparent at the time of delivery.
  • Contact The Furniture Bureau within 24 hours so I can help resolve the issue quickly.

Prompt notification allows me to work with the courier to investigate any transit damage and reach a satisfactory resolution.
