Commissioning Furniture Doesn't Need to Feel Complicated
Whether you've inherited a family heirloom, discovered a vintage treasure or simply have a piece of furniture you'd love to use again, I'll guide you through every step of the process. From colours and finishes to wallpapers and hardware, we'll work together to create something that's perfectly suited to your home.
It's all in the detail.
Share Your Furniture
Simply get in touch and send me a few photographs of your furniture, its approximate measurements and a little about what you'd like to achieve.
Don't worry if you don't have a clear vision yet. Many clients know they want their furniture to feel more at home in their space but aren't sure where to begin. That's absolutely fine – we'll explore what's possible together.
I specialise in quality vintage and heirloom furniture, including writing bureaux, chests of drawers, bedside tables, glazed display cabinets, sideboards, coffee tables and other well-made vintage pieces.
If you're unsure whether your furniture is suitable for transformation, send me some photographs and I'll be happy to advise.
Create the Design Together
You don't need to arrive with all the answers. Inspiration can come from a favourite cushion, artwork, wallpaper, fitted furniture, a cherished ornament or even a beautiful handle.
We'll use the things you already love to develop a design that feels perfectly at home in your space. Together we'll consider colours, finishes, metallic accents, wallpapers and hardware, creating a piece that reflects your style and feels uniquely yours.
Sometimes it's the smallest details that spark the best ideas. After all, it's all in the detail.
Agree the Details
Once we've agreed the design, colours, finishes and personal touches, I'll prepare a detailed quotation outlining everything we've discussed.
Your transformation date is secured with a 50% deposit. I'll also confirm the expected timeframe and collection or delivery arrangements before work begins.
If your furniture needs minor repairs, I'll discuss these with you and provide a separate quotation before any additional work is carried out.
The Transformation Begins
Your furniture is carefully prepared, painted and finished by hand, with close attention paid to all those details we've chosen together.
Most commissions require around two to three weeks, although every piece is different. I'll give you an estimated timeframe before work begins.
You can choose to receive updates as your transformation progresses, or wait for a complete reveal when your furniture comes home.
Welcome It Back Home
Once your piece is complete, we'll arrange its journey home, with the remaining balance due before delivery.
For nationwide commissions, I work with trusted professional couriers who understand the importance of handling furniture with care. For local commissions, my husband and I offer a personal collection and delivery service wherever possible.
Then comes the best part – unwrapping your transformed furniture, placing it back in your home and enjoying a unique piece created especially for you.
